A Lot of People Have an Idea of Who Jesus Is
They may get this idea from TV or movies, maybe from past church experience and Sunday School felt boards, from history books, or maybe from just hearsay. But just because we have ideas of who Jesus is doesn’t mean we actually know Jesus.
At Fellowship, we’re all about Jesus—and the only way to get to know Jesus is to understand what the Bible says about him.
We believe that Jesus is God (John 10:30), and we take Him at His word (John 14:6). We invite you to learn more about this man who is God and how you can find forgiveness and new life in Him; how heaven can be gained and hell can be missed.
Knowing Jesus begins by realizing that God loves you. John 3:16 says, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The Bible talks about how we all sin, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and the payment for that sin is death (Romans 6:23).
That’s Where Jesus Steps In
Jesus paid for our sins when he died on a cross (Romans 5:8), but we can only receive this payment if we accept what Jesus did and why he did it.
It all starts with asking God‘s forgiveness for your sins, believing that Jesus died on the cross to save you from those sins, and accepting Jesus’ sacrifice as a gift to rescue your life. (Luke 13:3; Romans 10:13).
If you would like to know more about all of this, we would love to better share how you can have a faith in Jesus and know for sure that heaven will be your home.
At Fellowship Baptist, we are an independent, self-governing church with members who are committed to furthering the message of Jesus, and his calling for the church based in the fundamental doctrines and teachings found in the Bible for our family, community and world.
